Mumbai: Healthcare diagnostic chain, Thyrocare reported a 25.1 per cent year on year growth in consolidated revenue at Rs 270.08 crore for the second quarter ending September this year.

Ebitda for the quarter stood at Rs ₹89.3 crore, up 24.9 per cent year on year, while profit after tax before exceptional items also increased 25.7 per cent to Rs 60.2 crore.

The chain said exceptional items comprise a one-time, non-cash impairment charge of ₹45 crore relating to the proposed sale of its radiology arm, Nueclear Healthcare Limited.

Profit after tax, removing the exceptional items stood at Rs 15.2 crore.

“This charge has no impact on the Company’s operational performance,” Thyrocare added.

The diagnostic chain said growth was primarily driven by its pathology segment, as franchise revenue grew by 26.9 per cent year on year, while partnership segment recorded 27.9 per cent year on year growth.

In the three month period, Thyrocare processed 61.6 million tests, up 27.4 per cent year-on-year, making it the largest diagnostic test volume processor in India.

The company continued expansion into the specialty diagnostics segment after entering the Allergy and Genomics testing segment last quarter

It also launched its Pregnancy Test Kit, backed by a confirmatory lab test, a first in India, according to Thyrocare.

The test is launched with the help of its API Holdings group company Ascent and is present in more than 10,000 chemists.

Rahul Guha, MD & CEO, Thyrocare Technologies said, “Thyrocare reported a strong performance this quarter, driven by continued focus on operational efficiency, network expansion, and value-driven diagnostics.

“During the period, we also strengthened our specialty portfolio with the addition of allergy testing and entry into genomics through the launch of NIPT, with a phased expansion of the test menu underway. Thyrocare continues to expand its reach in underserved regions and scale its franchise and partner network, while remaining committed to delivering high-quality, affordable healthcare services across India. I am particularly excited about our foray into Point of Care devices with a unique proposition and soon hope to be present in all major chemist outlets.”
